Getting a 200 Amp Alternator. What is the best safest cabling and fuse to get?
Hey,
I'm getting a 200 Amp Powermax alternator. What is the BEST, SAFEST cabling and fuse to use with it?
Id like to do the "Big Three" grounds as well. Can I use the same cabling for the grounds?
Do I need anything else to do this (better than) properly as I would hate to burn my car up ;-)
Add as much detail as you like.
Does anyone know of a DIY for locating and replacing the main ground wires?
Does anyone still make grounding kits for the Sc400? I don't see any on the web so far. EDIT: I finally found one at Carson for $162. Is there a good kit for less? (Ill do it if I must though).
Thank you

When I did my battery relocate, I went down to my local marine supply store and bought marine grade battery cable. I got 2/0 stranded cable and the proper fittings for a great deal less than if it were branded for cars. Saved well over enough to buy the map gas torch to solder the fittings on. It would have been even cheaper if I hadn't gone gonzo on the cable size.
Just a tip for you to save some cash on the wiring if you don't go with a kit.
