96 sc400: how do you remove the spoiler brake light?
The car is a 96 sc400. The brake light in the spoiler stopped working all the sudden. There are no visable screws or tabs. Is it mounted into the spoiler with glue? How do I get the 3rd brake light from the spoiler out?

what do you plan to do once its out? I would try a plastic putty knife, but before that, grab a multimeter and test the power going through the cable in your trunk to the spoiler first. common problem.

I need help removing the spoiler LED brake light 96SC400
The spoiler is the one which is on most of the factory equipped SC300/SC400 models. I see no screws visible from the outside. I do not want to break anything by forcing the brake light off. Could someone please chime in with the solution? Thanks

Does the spoiler need to be removed in order to remove the 3rd brake light?
Do screws hold the 3rd brake light in place?

you need to take the spoiler off the trunk to gain access to the light...the light is mounted with either screws or bolts on the inside of the spoiler....
Like others said above remove the trunk liner and it will expose the 5 10mm nuts that hold the spoiler onto the trunk

95 sc400: to remove HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT. 1) remove spoiler 2) remove light from spoiler. Just make sure you really need to do this. I guessed mine didn't work
because of bulb issues so I went through steps 1 and 2. Turns out it was a power issue ( wiring harness never connected), but now to reinstall spoiler I have to replace the spoiler gasket. Also lost a bolt in the trunk lid so I need to fish out with coat hanger and small magnet. I should have bought the cheap multi-meter and checked the power at the connector located about a foot from the light before anything else. ( MUST DEPRESS BRAKE PEDAL) ..If you just want to look at the light in detail. It is a Very nice design with about 60 LED on a curved PCB and encapsulated in a red tail light. Nice. Real nice

because it is just a little additional wiring. I ask because I did not have power even though I should have .Turns out there was a wiring problem which appears to be a factory mistake. Is that what you are saying?
