Default o2 sensor does not fit onto obx midpipe

2jzge motor. problem is that the sensor does not fit onto the fitting on the midpipe.btw this sensor is the one that's held on with two 12mm nuts.look like i might have to heatup and straighten the fitting so that the sensor could fit in flush.do i really need this sensor since i dont have any cats .can i just put a cap on the fitting.need some input.thanks

how many wires does it have and whats the fitting on your midpipe?
If your midpipe just has one threaded hole, you just order a universal screw in type bosch sensor with the same number of wires and install that. If you don't have a post cat sensor you will throw a CEL and it won't run as well.
If you don't have a cat it may throw the code anyways even if installed properly unless you use one of those spacers or simulators but that is a workaround really.

i believe. Its a 4 wire sensor.its not a screw in type bung,it has the 2 nuts to hold it onto the fitting

So go buy a universal 4 wire screw in sensor and splice it into your current o2 harness. simple.

yeah, thats the proper solution, you can find the universal bosch 4 wire online for under $40 and then you just cut your old one off and plice in the new one and it will screw right into the midpipe.

so, I'm suppose to pretty much cut off the part that the 02 goes into, its approx 3inches. Welded to the midpipe, weld on a bung and use a universal type sensor.this was suppose to be a direct fit.what a p.o.s.I had to grind
my control arm, massage my firewall just for the headers to fit.oh well.

I bought me ebay header that was for a n/a MkIV Supra for like $200, it fit mostly perfect and even bolted to my stock midpipe.

I misread also I thought you had a screw in type bung and your 2 bolt wouldn't work (obviously).
IF you have the 2 bolt type, and the flange is 2 bolt type, I would just grind down whatever part is touching if its not important or just on the flange. do not grind on the o2 sensor though.
maybe a picture would help, Im guessing its probalby the hole thats too narrow then just make it bigger or fashion a spacer with a larger center hole.

or you could weld on the screw on type to the center hole on the current flange and buy and change your o2 to a screw on type, but at that point you might as well just buy the proper size 2 bolt flange and have that welded on so you can keep the o2 sensor, you have alot of options in this case. If you had a screw bung on your midpipe already that would have been the easiest route.

why doesn't it fit into it then, it looks like it should fit. if the holes arent big enough on the o2 sensor just drill them out some.

it looks like it can fit.but there is a bend right under the flange causing the sensor not to sit flush

a picture would help, its pretty clear you will just have to mod it to work, or block it off and weld on a screw in bung somewhere else.
