A/C Compressor seized up / smoking. I want to delete it.
So since we changed the SC400 to a 2JZ-GE, the AC lines didn't match, and the dude that did my swap left them disconnected. I've driven the car a total of about 200 miles since the swap, had tons of over heats, etc. Today I smell something bad, hear a seizing noise, then see smoke. Shut off the motor, popped the hood, and the AC compressor was smoking.
Can't I just pull the pulley off, bypass it altogether with a smaller belt, and call it a day? Car is stranded on the side of the road right now, so I'm trying to research this first before I get out there in the dark to do it.
All I found so far was this:

It depends on being able to wrap the new belt around the other pulleys a sufficient amount. Try using a small rope, to see if it will work, then you have to get an exact length belt.
