Default anyone have A.C. eliminator pulley advice

On my SC400 Im going to be removing my A.C. , and need to start fabbing a idle pulley replacement. I know they make A.C. compressor delete idler pulley kits for other cars, hope I can rework one thats close.

Good question. Yes I bypassed the A.C. and used a Gates belt and it was not wrapped far enough around the waterpump and squealed.

What do you mean not wrapped far enough? As in wasn't tight enough? There are other belt companies out there do you have the belt length or part number handy? It is possible to get 1/2in increment belts

if u just need a shorter belt. try running a string around the pullies u do have and then measure the string. then go to autozone and tell them the size u need. i did this on my buddys 2j when we deleted his ac. worked for us. just give it alittle slack for the tensioner to work.hope this helps u.

I forget the exact length on mine, but it fits. It still sort of makes the pulley move... and im not sure if this is a detriment or not...

I had the correct length of belt and it was good quality. If I go much shorter it would be over tensioning the bearings on all the accessories. Ill call Advance just to double check the next shorter length.

have you looked to see if there is a larger aftermarket idler pulley available? or an idler from another vehicle that would suffice?

just throwing out suggestions here
