So i cant get my 14mm socket to fit over the stud as it hits the side of the cat. How do i remove them from the exhaust manifold still on the car?

Use a swivel ratchet or place an extension on it to move the ratchet further away from the cat. Can you post a picture. I never had a problem when I had this motor and exhaust. Or just use the open end part of the wrench...

Yea, I had mine off in probably about 45 min. (that includes putting the car on stands) The passenger side you can get to with just an extension. The driver side I used an extension for the outter two bolts, then there was a little plate that bolts to the subframe I pulled off to get a wrench on the upper/inner bolt. It was a little bit of a pain, but do-able none the less.
