Default Coolant Tank Sensor / reserve tank assy

I own a 1992 SC400 with 140000 miles now, I bought a new expansion tank thinking it was cracked but a week later I notice coolant on the top of the tank. It must be the coolant tank sensor.... looked for install tips but could not find them... is there anything special I need to know to change it?
