Anyone ever use the Transgo 340-HD2 shift kit? Just bought one going to install.

QUOTE=Clean400;7635819]Nice good to hear! Is it going to be for a 5 speed auto? I saw you have a 97 in your sig, I'm not sure it it was 97 or 98 that the VVTI model came out with the 5 speed auto. Just saying because this mod doesn't work with the 5 speed autobox only the 4 speed

I ordered 2 of the kits just yesterday so 1 for my SC400 v-8 and one for my 2jzgte trans that will be going in with my swap so I just want to try one out on my 400 which is going to be my test bed also it's a 4 speed I think 98 is when they switched to the 5 spd auto.

I have a few minor mods to my sc400 trans such as 2 trans coolers and the 4th sol on a switch and that made a good deal of improvement already so I will report back with my results as soon as I get a chance to put them in![/QUOTE]

Just found this but it appears to be just rods and springs so I guess it would be just like the toyomoto rods from back in the day so same as shimming the accumulators etc, I wonder why it is so cheap? Or is it the same thing as what the op posted?

Yes I saw that one too. If you look on the Trans go website they offer both kits. The HD2 kit looks to be more performance oriented. It includes the drill bits and instructions on how to modify the valvebody. Whether or not the rest of the parts are the same, I'm not sure. Try to call Trans go and find out. If its just the drill bits I guess you could use the photo I uploaded and use your own drill bits to drill the valvebody.

You won't have to wait long!

Skip to 30 seconds if you just want to see the full throttle run. There's a second full throttle run shortly after the first one. I ran out of road or I would of kept going for you guys. I did some every day driving after to show that it still shifts relatively smooth.

The full throttle runs were done from a stop and just mashing the pedal to the floor. I didn't brake torque the start or turn the 4th solenoid off. The car is basically "stock" in terms of things that could effect acceleration besides an unfinished BFI, and TRD T-3 lighweight wheels. Tires aren't even that great they came with the Rims.

looks great! did your car hit the limiter before the kit when shifting? That's really all I hate, and want to fix. Mines a nice commuter/cruiser with no racing. I just don't want anything harsh at all since I only see a stop light flogging here and there.

No my transmission was shifting perfectly before this mod. If that's all you want to fix then just get the base model Transgo kit.

The SK 340.

With this kit you won't be modding the valvebody. It's also less expensive.

I also wanted to add that when I went on the highway, the kickdown was also friggen awesome! It's like anytime I wanted to gun it it would kickdown immediately. No more lazy kickdown. Also when shifting from 2nd to 3rd on the highway it feels like the car is being propelled into 3rd gear. Feels like a different machine! Favorite mod I've done to the car so far.

No problem man! The car is already in storage. I got the car in storage the night before it snowed over here. Just in time! If not I would have made another video.

Edit: I just want to add that I originally thought the 1992 Lexus SC400 had a line pressure **** inside the valve body. With this I thought you were able to adjust line pressure. There is no such thing on a 1992 Lexus SC400. Not that it's needed anyways, the shift kit is all you will need!

Yeahhh! Nice I knew it felt faster than stock. Didn't time it or anything. I can't wait to put in the high stall torque converter and LSD next summer. It's gonna be fun!
