Default Major mistake during the swap , don't make the same mistake I did !

When I got my motor "2jzgte" it all looked good no sludge, very clean allConnectors were good even the coil connectors didn't fall apart when I did plugs. After 2 days of putting a few hundred miles on the car.... Coolant leak. So I said ok no problem it was one of the back turbo coolant hoses I replaced both of them . Drove the car 30 miles no issues got home , let it sit 30 min went out to the car and saw about a 2 foot in dia coolant spot ...wtf! Got it back to work never overheated found another small hole this time front turbo coolant lines . Replaced them bled the coolant drove he car hard for 8 miles came back to the shop ..... Coolant leak again ! This time oil cooler coolant line
Split , I now started to investigate. I cut that line in half and yep it's dry rotted to hell , decided to pull upper intake and replace every rubber coolant line about 15 of them. After cutting all of them open they were all dry rotted and splitting from inside out. When you press hard on the hoses with your hand when there's no coolant you can hear a faint cracking ... So learn from others mistakes replace all!!!! Of your rubber coolant hoses not just the radiator hoses

Thats always a preventive maintenace thing when doing the swap. Take the lesson learned and take it this in a positive way. At least you found the coolant leak and fixed the problem.

Definitely! Well said...and to the OP we're glad you diagnosed the problem while it was minor.

This is junkyard motor so when you buy it, you must replace all the hoses, oil pump, water pump, belt etc.. If you do all those you have 2% of chance of something failling on you.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This is what alot of people needs to Understand. It's the same scenario when you buy an engine or trans for a salvage yard .

At least that was all that was wrong! I'd say you made it out pretty damn good if all you had to do is replace coolant hoses .
