AEM EMS V.2, Shuts down when I go into boost. HELP!!!!
Okay, I have 10+ hours on the dyno with my tuner trying to figure this out.
1. Sent EMS back to AEM for hardware update, fixed 3k ignition stutter
2. Re-gaped sparkplugs down to 19-20 (AEM recommendation)
3. disconnected knock sensors and everything not needed for the EMS (incase i was getting a bad signal)
4. still need to put new fuel filter in but tuner doesn’t think that could be it.
What it is doing:
When I go into boost 3-4psi it will kill fuel or ignition (it is not like a misfire/ blow out) it shuts down, I have to turn the ignition off for 5+ seconds and wait for the computer to come back online before it will start again. I think it is sensing a problem and shutting down to save the motor, but after logging runs and sending the tune and logs to AEM and the tuners buddies, everyone says it looks good.
I go back tomorrow for him to mess with the fazing on the distributer, he thinks it is dropping to much signal??
here is my set up
Holset HX40 turbo
AEM EMS v2 for NA-t
AEM UEGO wideband
AEM 3.5 map
AEM AIT
PH fuel pump 360lph
rx-7 550 injectors
stock ignition
stock fuel rail/regulator/lines
Tail WG/BOV
here is a link to the build

Is your tuner familiar with the V2?
Has he tuned 2jz with the V2 before?
Did you buy the EMS brand new?
If all those answer are Yes , I would send the Box back to AEM and let them deal with it, it's not fair to you.
Try to get them to send you a new box!

Update
After the tuner took the dizzy out and re-set it (off one tooth) them he set the timming using AEM wizard it will do full pulls at 9 psi, but when I turned it up to 12psi it cut off agin.
I sent all your questions to the tuner. And am setting up an appointment as soon as some of his timer friends get back with him on there ideas as well.
Thanks guys for the input, FYI he wants me to go back to V1 but I like my A/C and cruise control.

I had an aem v1 box and the a/c and cruise control worked like factory. glad its working, but you dont have to spend the extra coin for a v2 for those features.
the v2 gives you 6 coil drivers for sequential ignition which is nice if you have 6 coilpacks like a GTE.
The V1 only has 5 coil drivers, so to run coilpacks it runs 3 drivers in wasted spark for 6 cylinders.
But since you have the stock dizzy you always have 1 coil with sequential ignition (distributor deals spark out in order) on both v1 and v2, so it doesn't make a difference.
Alot of us strongly believe the vvti coils are a better route than gte coils anyways, making the extra features on the v2 not worth it because tuners are less familiar with v2, although they have very similar tables but everything looks different.
The v2 does have some other features though which can come in handy, but that's a different discussion.
