Default Please Help fuelp pump replacement

I have a 93 SC300 with 250,000 mi. I allready bypassed ECU 2 years ago and been working fine. I filled the tank the other day and noticed a louder than usual humming coming from back seat. yesturday after a long run I parked it and it will not start nor is there a buzz from fuel pump when key is turned on before crank.

Is the fuel pump behind the back seat ? my car is slanting downward and when I began to remove fuel started pouring out. I have a little over half a tank. jacking the car up will prevent this?

Is there anything else I need to know about replacing the fuel pump...any tips?

Yes, the fuel pump is behind the back seat. With that much fuel in the car, you may have to siphon some out to keep it from pouring out through the pump mount plate. Obviously, disconnect the battery, and be VERY careful not to create a spark when you are messing with the pump. In cold weather, I tend to spark on everything I touch, so be aware of static. When I pulled the fuel pump plate off mine, I could see fumes roll out of the tank and into the cabin.

Also, when you are removing and installing the clamps for the rubber fuel line, be careful that your pliers don't slip and spark. I know it sounds paranoid, but fuel pump work can be pretty dangerous without proper grounding and ventilation, so be careful
