Starting Problems After New Fuel Pump
I recently had the fuel pump replaced as part of the recall (also had the transmission replaced). Ever since I got my car back, I've seen a difference in the starting. It seems to crank for awhile before starting and sometimes requires trying it twice. This was never the case before the fuel pump was replaced.
Anyone here have a similar problem after the fuel pump recall?
Thanks.

Yeah,
I also have a more difficult time starting my car after a new fuel pump. Before it turned over with no cranking sound. I'm not sure what is causing it. I also has my timing belt changed at the same time.

It could be that the fuel pump wasn't installed correctly. I also brought my car in for recalls and ended up with 2 problems:
1. When they removed the back seat, they didn't put it back correctly. The car seat belt buckle of the middle is stuck beneath the seat.
2. A couple weeks later, my car died on the highway
. I had it towed to the dealer. They found that the fuel pump and fuel float were not installed correctly.

Thanks for the responses. I have an appointment for a 15,000 mile service next week and have told them to check the starting problems. Interestingly it doesn't happen every time. Sometimes it turns over right away and sometimes it cranks for awhile then turns over.
I'll post a follow-up after the service is done.

Just had my 15,000mile service and told them about the starting problems. They replaced the fuel pump for a second time and told me they've been having some problems with the replacement pumps. It appears that additives in some fuels affect some percentage of the replacement units.
