350z 6 speed cd009 will not fit a IS300 chassis tunnel starting with firewall and going full duration of the tunnel. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...sion-swap.html

my only questioning is the 350z 6 speed swap worth the money considering the v160 v161 are out there and we know what the transmissions can take for a abuse

The worth of it is in the eye of the beholder, you will have to come to your own conclusion.

Like everything, there are pros and cons. Weigh them out and figure out what works best for you.

Funny you should ask., I just updated post #159 with where I'm at currently. I will try to keep it updated as time goes on:

Couple updated pics.

I welded in two longer bolts to act as studs for the starter, and drilled the starter threaded holes out. Should work nicely. You can see them in the upper left of the first pic kinda. Also in the pic is the OEM flex plate, and the flywheel adapter plate installed (loctite).

Pic of flywheel / clutch setup fully installed.

Big fawker

Wasn't easy, but she's in. Don't have the trans mount yet, there's a jack under there holding it up for the time being.

Yeah if you just keep them as bolts, you will have to remove the trans to replace starter with this adapter plate. So I'd definitely say making them studs is a must for this setup.

As for the trans mount, sounds like Collins will have a trans mount solution for purchase here soon.

^^ agree with that do you think changing the starter is possible without dropping the transmission, or do you think you can access it but remove the trans crossmember. I have pretty much made up that I'll be doing this swap as soon as I get the money to buy the stuff off collinsadapters.com
