93 sc400 eaton m90 upgrade
im looking into putting an eaton m90 supercharger on my 93 sc400 ive read alot of forums and looked at a few adapter kits. one thing im not sure on is the ecm and injectors. would an upgraded ecm need to be put in for say a 6 to 7 psi boost and heavier injectors need to be installed? or will it work with stock components and just not reach full potential of the supercharger?

With most NA cars they advance ignition timing to much and cause the car to knock so ECM upgrade a must. At 6-7 PSI I would recommend also installing a intercooler. But thats a intake manifold mounting supercharger right? So you won't be able to do that. I would go for a safer 4 psi. As for injectors you would want to run larger injectors for your target HP, and also a better pump. You may also have to run a line back to the fuel pump. I don't know enough about SC's yet idk if there fuel system is returnless or not. I assume it is. You will also need a rising rate fuel pressure regulator.

As far as 7-8 Psi that is pretty darn high for a supercharger. Yes of course you can do it. But personally I wouldn't run more then 4, but thats just cause I like to play it safe. Real safe. Superchargers are not like a turbo they are not as efficient and they make more heat. IN the intake not the turbo itself.

Of those that have supercharged 1UZs, 6-8 psi is the norm. It has been done on stock ECU, pump, and injectors.

thats what i thought moojohn from what i could find all that was needed was an adapter kit the supercharger and a few other intake parts. my problem was finding concrete info on the swap. dont get me wrong ive a jet mechanic but i work with turbos and superchargers on carbureted motors. not to much on ecm controlled swaps

Hey man, I just got my SC like a week ago, and been on this forum for 4 days. So I had no idea that are v8's had the ability to handle 6-8 psi on stock fuel pump, injectors etc. I have never heard of a STOCK production car able to handle that much more air without being upgraded.
I have read tons of forced induction books and am 1 class away from my degree in automotive, my thinking is in the right ball park here. As stated, I mentioned what I would do.

bringing this back, been binge reading about the m90. i found one on ebay for 200 bucks, used that i'll probably rebuild, but what else is needed? only stuff i've found is capping the EGR and some adapter plate i can't find anywhere. also where the hell does the IACV go then???
