First Time Lexus owner - SC300 NOOB factory exhaust spec questions
I've searched through the threads for a while, and it seems that the question I have might have been answered before, but for modified or turbo(ed) cars. I recently bought a 1993 SC300. It is 100% factory bone stock, and never modified in any way.
I'm looking to replace the factory mufflers with magnaflow straight through mufflers and add 4" tips. I'd also like to remove any "socks" in the pipes that I can, while still passing Houston Texas emmission inspection. If there is a third cat beyond the first two, I'd like to replace it with straight pipe, but since this year of car requires the tail pipe emmission test on the dyno, I was curious if others have gone this route and had any issues. I had a 2001 mustang GT and removed 2 cats after the elbow cats, and still passed inspection w/no probs.
Can someone point me to some more info pertaining to the pipe diameter of the axel-back pipes? This would really help me find thee right mufflers.
Sorry for the stupid questions.... just want to do things right the first time. Thanks in advance for the info.
