blue smoke turns to black
let me start by saying, feel free to call me an a$$hat, cause i feel like one. went out to my 97 sc300 today, stock motor, w/ cold air intake, mufflers, and resonator delete. i start it up and it runs really rough and is shooting blue smoke out of the tail pipe. i immediately turn off the car pop the hood and check the oil, like any sensible a$$hat, i'm barely on the stick. so i go to the store in my buddys car, pick up 3 quarts and go back home. i then discover i'm a full 2 qts low. when i start it up, and rev it like before, it has smoothed out completely, but is now shooting black smoke with a mild hint of a misfire at about 3700-4000RPM's. no codes at all at any point in this fiasco, but my concern is the smoke. I've been looking through the forum for about 2 hours now and havent found anything quite like my experience. my initial reaction was valve seals because of the blue smoke and the low oil, but the black smoke has kind of thrown me off. any suggestions or ideas of what it could be would be greatly appreciated.
