Single vs double exhaust? Is there a difference?

Default Single vs double exhaust? Is there a difference?

The sc im buying the owner put only 1 muffler most put 2 rear mufflers the owner said it sounds better and better horsepower it has 1 jz swap in it is it true 1 muff is better i was thinking of putting 2 muffs bcuz 2 muffs looks better to me please advise thanks

I have a sc with a 1jz swap and i have custom 3inch exhaust into a HKS carbon titanium muffler and it looks and sounds AWESOME!!! so i say look into the HKS carbon titanium cat back and you will be happy

also weighs less in the rear end.. stock muffs are heavy

Since its a 1J then the single is prob going to sound better, and less weight. You can always do dual its your preference.

The single exhaust would weigh less. Duals look better though.

If you go with the single, fill in the other hole on the bumper.

Single ruins the SC making it look like just another regular car on the road. I have the stock dual exhaust it looks more sporty & sexy

remember you want a straight exhaust (less bends and restrictions for the gases to travel through) so since your car has a 1j swap, all the exhaust comes out from only one bank of the engine... why mess with something straight and add an unnecessary bend to make it dual?

It has a single muff was thinking putting hks hi power muffs one on each side i think it looks better but if just 1 muffler performs better i guess i will just leave it?

duals r quieter
duals look more sexy less ricey. a 4in downpipe can become 3in duals.

does anyone have a pics or know a link to a pics on how the stock sc300 dual mufflers look with oem piping? i think im gonna buy another hks hipower muffler and do same pattern with the oem style but 3" piping for my 1jz engine swap, i wanna see underneath the car on how the oem piping looks any links would be kool thanks
