Default Turbo suggestion please.

Hey guys I am still collecting parts for my NA-t but I am still planning on boosting in the near future. I currently have a MasterPower T70 and I might be able to trade up to a greddy T88. My power goals are 500-600 rwhp. I know it's a pretty good jump in there but I have all the supporting mods for a decent power build. My car is going to be used as a street car and I was thinking of eventually learning to drift. Would I be making a mistake going up to a T88?

Big turbos look so bad **** when you pop the hood. But they are usually laggy. Look at the fastest sc thread. See the sizes? lost of 67mm make the power you want. Even the 67mm is somewhat laggy, for me anyway. Cut from the first post of the "top 20 Fastest SCs" thread.

1. 8.59 @ 163 - T perf - GTE, 76mm, TH400, Electromotive, 3640 lb. raceweight
2. 9.36 @ 151 - TurboB6 - HKS 3.4L, GT47-88, Powerglide, Motec (1.6 60')
3. 9.38 @ 147 - turbo6 - GE w/GTE head, Powerglide, Tec3
4. 9.44 @ 145 - M34LNCH - GTE, TH400, 76mm, AEM
5. 9.59 @ 143 - quikturbo - GTE, 6spd (1.36 60')
6. 10.1 @ 144 - SW - GTE, 6-speed, BL71
7. 10.6 @ 130 - whiteSc3 - GTE, BLTH400, 67mm (1.7 60')
8. 10.7 @ 132 - 93twintrbo - NA-T, TH400, 67mm, AEM (1.7 60')
9. 11.17 @ 122 - Easy2Speed - NA-T, TH400, 67mm
10. 11.20 @ 131.9 - 2JZNAT - NA-T, 71mm, 6spd (1.90 60')
11. 11.2 @ 128 - PM Supra - NA-T, BL67, 6spd, AEM
12. 11.35 @ 135.51 - dohc3ltt - GTE, 80mm, 6spd (2.055 60')
13. 11.93 @ 129 - motorheaddown - NA-T, T74GTS, 6spd (2.08 60')
14. 12.15 @ 125 - iasc300 - Turbo
15. 12.17 @ 110 - forcefed86 - NA-T, TE44, meth, BL auto (1.7 60')
16. 12.29 @ 128 - bmsport - GTE, 6pd
17. 12.63, @ 121.4 - Turbo? - 1jz, stock twins, 20psi
18. 12.91 @ 111.51mph - witckraft - NA-T @ 10.5psi, 5spd, AEM EMS, A2W IC, Full Weight

a turbonetics 62-1 will give that power range, and will spool up quick, but as stated above a 67mm with the proper sized a/r will yield plenty of HP range and minimal lag.

If you want a medium/large framed turbo, I still have my GT4088 72mm, 4'' inlet with an .81 a/r hotside.. has a bad front seal, but a rebuild can be done for $100-$400, and Ill sell it to you cheap if you want it..I was asking $450, but will go lower, just give me the word.

It's really not a 100% street Turbo.
Billet 6265,6765 with .81ar to 96 ar you will be fine .
These are for the street fighters the Billet 67 should make about 600rwhp on pump gas at 20lbs on AEM EMS with The best Tuner, Manual Tranny,Dual Pump,880cc, Stock intake manifold this is on the Stock GE block with TT HG.
The Billet67 .96ar will make 801rwhp on E85 with some 264s,1600cc or iD2000 around 27-30 Psi.

I had the Billet 67 .81ar and 9.7.1 CR it was no lag and scares the h### out of me.

Exactly. 6265 will get you where you want. Big turbos do look nice but unless you turn the boost up and wake them up they are pointless to have IMO.
