So oil is basically pouring out from the bottom of my engine. It started last night but I didn't realize it until I saw the huge puddle of oil I left in the workplace parking lot. By the time I was home and pulling in to the drive I had a nice drip stream of oil up the drive. I cleaned some oil off and then started the car hoping to see if I could find where the oil was pouring out. Look at this next pic, oil is streaming down the upper oil pan. Also note on the left side of the pic, there is a metal hose with an open end...Does anything connect to that?

This next pic is from the drivers side from right under the oil filter...

This is some of the aftermath

Does an upper oil pan just let loose like this and dump oil? Please help guys!

Well after some searching, it looks as though this is a front main seal. Only way to replace it is to open up the front as if I were doing the timing belt... FEEECCCCKKK. I need help doing this work as I'm not loaded enought to pay a dealership to do it.
Thats quite an aggresive leak-------I would bet money that --yes---somethinmg is suppposed to be connected to that metal hose----what? I do not know---sorry.
Im not sure where exactly your leak is coming from but keep an eye out for valve covers----rear main seal---front main seal-cam seal-----or main gaskets-----best bet----do a thourough cleaning in the daytrime and than keep a close eye on it----you should be able to pinpoint it eventually.
Also keep a VERY close eye on your oil levels from now on---you dont want it to run dry while driving along.
Good luck

It does suck man. It's my only ride and the wife is outta town. I can't find hardly anything online about changing the front main seal. Do you have any tips on it? Is it visible once you take everything off like you were going to change the water pump and timing belt?
Yes i see the circle ------too bad it isnt the oil pan-----i also have no advice on how to change the front seal--sorry---how many miles do u have on your car---out of curiosity.

yea its visable but you still have to get the timing belt pully off the crank, which needs a puller & then you need a puller for the seal. like a slide hammer with a screw on the end. you drill a hole in the seal then screw the screw in the hole then use the slide to pop it out. gotta have the right tools or you will f-up the suface on the crank.

holy smokes...Well I know I don't have those tools nor would I feel comfortable doing all that by myself. Is it even worth spending 2 grand at a repair shop for this? I guess I really have no choice.
