Id stick a $.10 resistor in it, install the block off plates, and just leave it for looks.

Had the car for 2 years now and have had my check engine light on this whole time for the EGR valve. Doesn't bother me anymore. I don't even notice it driving now. And honestly if something else goes wrong with my car I will notice it believe me....I won't need the check engine light to tell me.

it's a ****ty system, but it works to reduce emisions on cars. you'd be surprised how much i saw NOx levels drop when the EGR kicked on (saw it while working with a gas analyzer).

You don't see EGR valves on newer cars because variable valve timing technology actually works to keep some exhaust gases in the combustion chamber and help emissions. It works for a daily commuter car standpoint, but from a performance standpoint it sucks ***.

I would put money on the vacuum modulator as the prob.
