IIRC thats an ambient air temp sensor. Should be mounted on the outside front section of the passenger side with a 10mm bolt.

i thought it looked like some kind of air sensor so i moved it and have had it sitting in front of the air intake box until i figured out what it really was.

if im understanding correctly, are you saying it should be some where in the area under the headlight?

it mounts on top of the crash bar in the bumper towards the center on the passenger side, pointed towards the grill at the bottom of the front bumper.
basically where the wiring is coming from just don't pull it up towards the engine bay like in the pictures. kinda looks like your crash bar is missing in those pics.

My 92 had it mounted on the frame just below the crash bar. I could see it when looking through the front vents (short section on the side). Ill see if I can get a pic of mine for you.

IIRC, it's just an air temp sensor for the AC system. It just needs to be located somewhere in front of the condenser where it will get good airflow, but not too close to get radiant heat.

Excuse the cell phone pics but here you go:

Here you can see where its mounted. Mine is moved back to the third hole, but IIRC it should bolt into the first (far right) hole in the picture

Looking through the vents on the passenger side.

ahh thank you very much turbodremz, the pics really helped. i see there is an open screw hole in the same location where yours is. any idea what the rest of those holes next to it are for? intercooler mount for the supra or something?

no problem. as for the other holes, 1 of them was for a factory plastic baffle that was there, the other Im not really sure. More than likely something for an SMIC.

yeah figured as much. the previous owners seemed to have messed with a bunch of stuff so i never know what exactly is missing when it comes to things like that.
