Default 1997 SC300 o2 sensor questions

There are 3 o2 sensors on my 1997 SC. One of them is currently not plugged in and my questions are the following:

1.) Is is absolutely necessary to have the 3rd o2 sensor plugged in, or can I run without it? If I can run without, please give me pointers.

2.) If I do need to have it, My problem is that after replacement of the flange on my new exhaust, the wire no longer reaches where it needs to plug in. My question is, How would YOU recommend I go about extending the wiring?? Below are 2 photos of the o2 sensor and the plug it has. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Im NA-T incase that makes a difference in what advice you may give me.

Ashtray-

edit: Also, whats the difference between the threaded o2 sensors and the ones that have a flange with 2 bolts? I have 2 extra threaded o2 sensors and I was wondering if I could use that wiring as an extension. Thanks again.

Is it a pre (bank 1) or post (bank 2) O2? Are you using a MAP of MAF system on your NA-T set up?

no, right now your draw through (maf infront of turbo), on the 6th we will be switching you to blow through (maf after turbo, before TB)..

and just to clarify, this is the 3rd o2 sensor post cat just behind the flange on the mid-pipe. It came up somewhere through the pass floor board

dont order anything yet, just hold off till the 6th and we will handle it then..no need to spend money on something that isnt needed yet..you still have those other o2 sensors right?
