I have the transmission sitting on the floor in my garage. With a shifter on it, it won't run through any gears. It's pretty much not budging.

I removed the tail shaft and bell housing. The input/output splines both spin fine. I think I removed the old shifter in a certain gear other than neutral and need to "reset" it to install the new shifter.
