Hints on removing P. Steering solenoid screen
Hi
Gonna attempt removing the solenoid to access the Power Steering rack screen to clean it.
Its in there pretty much surrounded by so much, it looks pretty difficult to get a wrench around it without hitting something else.
Any suggestions on the best way to get in there to "unscrew" that solenoid? Looks like its gonna be a bear.
Suggestions welcome
thanks for your help

From my reading another site, one idea is to hit the nut, approx 1.5" diameter with a chisel to get the nut loose.
The issue is its surrounded with so much stuff, getting in there is tough while the rack is on the car.
Will attempt it this weekend or next

The easiest way is to pull the rack bolts and loosen the steering rod pull the steering rod out tip tie the wheel down and mark where it goes back then pull the rack forward then down leaving everything else still hooked up. It's pretty easy and about the only way but once you do one you can do it in less than an hour. when you get it down put a wrench or vice grips on it and spin it off clean the screen pop it all back on and put the rack back and reinsert the steering rod tighted all and your done. It also helps to loosen the top of the steering rod to so it iwll slide up. It's really pretty simple it just looks hard.
