Default Curious On How You All Removed Your Alternator

I was just wondering that since I tried to follow Lextreme guide and found out that you can't remove it from the bottom. What I ended doing was unbolting the coolant tank and disconnecting the big radiator hose and pulling it out.

Is that the consensus or is there an easier way?

I took mine out from the top. There was a bolt I had to get from the bottom, but it came out from the top. I had the old one off and the new one on in about half an hour. What was a ***** for me was getting the belt back on. Now that I've done it a few times the belt is a sinch.
I have a cold air intake tho so that's what probably gave me the room I needed?

Ok cool. I was getting pissed for a while trying to get it out. Even thought about removing the sway bar. Not sure how LS400s are setup as far the engine fan being on the block. Maybe that's why it's easier to do it that way.
