Lets talk intake manifolds!
I'm going NA-T soon and I love the look of an FFIM on a GE with GTE valve covers. I think it's a lot cleaner.
I read somewhere that the N/A manifolds were designed to go over the head like that to produce more torque.
Is that true?
And if so, why would anyone want to go FFIM? I'm assuming it's only beneficial if you're flowing REALLY large volumes of air. (high psi)
Can anyone confirm that the n/a manifold actually does produce more torque?

Can't confirm but this is what is in the FSM, page EM-3. Kinda funny to me because I read it looking for other stuff.

Me neither brother, That was just what I read two seconds brfore I saw your thread.
Some sport bikes use variable length runners to improve low end with long ones then at higher RPM they slide down to make them shorter.
Some honda motors have basically the same system.

design like that you will not be getting the airflow velocity to the 5th and 6th cyliinder.

It's Ross racing intake manifold for 2jz-gte not for NA-t.
This is the biggest intake manifold for MKIV TT without relocating the battery.
The manifold has narrow back making sure that air velocity carries to all cylinders. Better looking than that plazamanan POS intake.
OF course, it is custom anodized to HKS purple since I am using most of HKS parts building my 2jzgte swapped SC.
Design like that would flow enough to get you 1k hp level with racing gas and many quality parts.

You can def expect to loose a ton of low rpm torque when switching from the NA long-runner manifold to a short runner, large plenum design such as that.....If upper rpm power is what your after, go for it.....if this is a daily and you like some low end grunt, stay with the NA.
