Unhappy big problem with acceleration, not goin over 15mph at all

well, let me start off by sayin i love my 92 sc400. buttt been goin through alot with her. first i inslatted some h.i.ds,sen one ballast went out so i runnin on high beams. den my tranny started actin wen i kickdown an wakes up after 20mph. now my car wont even grasp 15 mph, wen i mash down it wont go faster at all, den my cluster wen blank so this iz jus a guess im doin 15. may seem funny, but iz not wen everything happens all in da same month. im a college student an now i jus have her sitting in the drive way. takin public tranportation, which sucks. any help to get it movin till i get the other things fix wud be helpful

Maybe limp it to the nearest autozone and see if it has any codes. Sounds like it might be a throttle position sensor and the car is stuck in "limp" mode. It allows you to limp it to the safest spot to stop w/o really hurting the car. Its really hard to say with a vague description, but I had a GS300 at work that wouldnt go over 15mph, and the TPS was kapoot.

Sounds like a bad alternator or battery to me.

Or a grounding problem. Definitely charge related.

sounds like a power problem..... the gasping sound gives off that bad alternator/grounding problem. Happened before to me, in another car and it does not sound pretty. gl

Seriously dude...I had to read this three times to understand what you are saying.

Search the engine forums, others have had this problem. Check all grounds, make sure they are secure and clean. Check coil, caps, rotors, wires.

Are you getting a CEL?

SERIOUSLY WFT! What kind of sentences and words are you making up?! If that is some kind of Ebonics let me know. Capitalize the beginning of your sentences! Your going to college who is paying for it with that spelling/grammar! Spell check is having a shi**fest type correctly! You have some electrical issues there possibly with the cluster itself. Your luck a squirrel or rat got inside the car and chewed the wires. Make sure the carpet isn't stuck under the gas pedal haha! See if your tranny fluid level is correct. Check out the wiring in the engine bay or under the dash for anything cut or chewed. See if you don't have any other issues going on. Looks like you might be taking the public transportation a bit longer then you think. Take it to a mechanic.....

Its a trinidadian thing, I talk with this accent so it messes with my writing, but yea I'm takin it tomorrow to a mechanic. And if i dont find the problem worth fixing, then i'm just goin to do the 2jz swap with a 6 speed buttom end.....if the tranny iz involved

With all of these things happening around the same time, I would seriously just check all your grounds. An then recheck your alternator. Also, the coil packs for a 400 are on the front of the motor, one on the drivers side is directly in front of the drivers side bank, and the other is right in the middle. Follow your coil wires to them.
