Default what seals/gaskets 2 change on tune up

i read that i should change valve cover gaskets, cam seals, main seal, rear seal and a few more things when doing a tune up.so i called carson toyota today to start pricing parts.while doing this i realized that i might be getting more parts than i need.so in order not to end up with more unwanted parts i came here for help from the experts.so all sound advice and opinions is welcomed.so to help you assist me i'll lay it out for you.it's a 97 sc 300 with 127000 miles and this will be my first tune up on it and the car was fairly taken care of but what was done prior to me owning it is up in the air.i know the obvious things that need to be changed.(i will not be pulling the engine)so focus on what seals and gaskets should be changed you could state the obvious also so anyone else that might see this can benifit from your knowledge.thanks fellas and if their is a place where this can be found i apoligize for not finding it.

Define what is involved in your tune up first. Tune up can mean, oil change, spark plugs, timing belt, etc...

Default Check your oil pan gasket too...

I just passed 104K miles on my 92 SC4 and noticed last week during an oil change that my oil pan gasket is leaking quite a bit of oil onto the belly pan. Just another thing to check out while your in there.....

thanks drew.i'll keep that in mind so far the only leaks i have is the distributor o ring and valve cover gasket.i just wanted to get some other things taken care of while it's in the shop so i don't have to worry about it going bad when i could have had it taken care of when it was down.

You will need an upper intake manifold gasket since the manifold has to come apart when the valve cover gaskets are done. Its probably a good idea to do the cam seals while your in there too.

Looks like you were in need of some valve cover gaskets.

Don't forget the distributor o-ring!
