Default 400 electric fan conversion 1 or 2 fans?

OK so I am going to do a electric conversion but was wondering what your thought were on 1 fan vs 2 smaller ones? I see most everyone doing the double but I would really like to do a 14 or 16" single 3000cfm with a custom shroud. I just need to know, are there any draw backs to this? I'm not doing this for hp gains or additional cooling just to un-clutter. I have a supra radiator and ide just like a cleaner better fitting shroud that i can take out easier from time to time still installed on the radiator.

Instead of the big hydro mess, which i do however think is ingenious but ide like to try the electric for my next supercharger setup.

Well, first of all, go STIG in your avatar, hell yes.

Next of all, you do realize that you would probably get more space on the radiator covered in you had two seen as one will only cover so much area of the radiator to pull/push air through.

Meanwhile, I have had 2 12" electric fans for almost 6 months and have never put them on, I just got a cold air intake instead and I don't want any switches in my car to turn on and off, Ill give em to you for almost free if you want them, just PM me.

Well you do realize you would just hook up a temp switch you wouldn't have any interior switches. My problem with the 2 singles is they don't pull the 3000cfm i need no matter what model and with a full coverage shroud it pulls all the air through the entire core never the less. Plus the single will pull 14 amps max with a zirgo... BTW is that your AR in your avatar?

Just my 2 pennies....

I'm using the e-fans out of a older Camry, 93 I think. Had to do some modifiactions to the shroud on the one side to clear the coolant tank but other than that, they fit well and cover about 95% of the radiator.

Also, I used the factory hydro pump solenoid wiring (through a realy) to turn them on and off. They work just like factory.

We used a single fan that pulled 2900 cfm on sam's sc400. Works fine even in the summer. Word of advice, don't use zirgo. We ended up going through 2 zirgo fans we wired through a relay and a temp switch. They both were brand new and the first crapped out in a week and the second didn't last 48hrs. We have the finger chopper on there with the stock shroud ( i cant remember if its permacool or flexalite ) Also add about two bottles of redline water wetter.

My setup is 2 16 inch Procomp S-Type Fans with a Hayden Automotive 3652 Dual fan relay note that the relay only turns fans on and off(off=170 on=180) no speed controller for different temps and no manual switch.

I had a pair of flex-a-lite fans on my SC400 before I sold it. They cooled really well but were loud. Hard to get used to the sound.

I wouldn't go with a single electric fan at all. What if its electric circuit is shorted, fuse is burnt, or the fan doesn't work for some reasons? Call (800) tow-truk. Go with a dual 12" or 14" and run 1 temp controller for each fan. So in case 1 fan dies, the other still works. 12" fans will be quieter, and I think each fan must have at least 1500 CFM no matter what size.

I used a dual 12" fans in summer before having the turbo, and it worked great. But they couldn't pull the heat out enough with the turbo. I then ran a dual 14" fans and they work without a problem.
