Screeching clutch.
Hello guys,
I have a factory 5 speed sc300, and recently, my clutch has been making a screeching sound when taking off from a stop. Very high-pitched, almost like spinning the tires.
It is not continuous, and goes away after the clutch is fully engaged.
I think it might be a worn throw out bearing, but i just wanted to make sure.
Does anyone have this problem, and is it easy to fix/replace?
Thanks in advance.

I assume you googled this? And found that your throw-out bearing is going.
If so, then your going to need to drop the tranny. The cost is like 300-500 for labor. A throw-out bearing is only like 60 bucks min to the 104 the dealership charges normally. I got mine for 75.
Also since you have tranny dropped and if you dont know the history of clutch(or pressure plate), you should change it as well. As well a new pilot bearing, resurface the flywheel and, put a new rear main seal on

But in the real world, your car making a noise is going to be a cop magnet.

Mine makes the noise as well. But not due the fact that the throw out bearing is gone. Its due to the flywheel, getting glazed. I wouldn't worry about it, when you have money to fix it, upgrade your clutch while your at it.
