93 SC300 Car Turned Off On Freeway
I just got my car a week ago. Did minor tune ups. Oil Change. Mobil 1 Full. Spark Plugs. Spark Plug Wires. Everything done by a mechanic. Its been running excellent until tonight when I was on the freeway going about 80 and the car shuts off on me and I was stuck on the freeway. Starts up and cranks and just doesnt start. Tow Truck guy said it might be the fuel pump. Any suggestions. Thanks guys.

You need a multimeter to check the relay itself. There are 4 terminals in the relay I believe you can test for continuity. 2 should be normally closed while the remaining 2 should be normally open.
You should then provide current to the 2 that is normally closed. If you do this you should hear a clicking sound from the relay. Check for continuity on the 2 terminals that are normally open. THey shoudl now have continuity as long as voltage is being supplied to the normally closed terminals.
if you don't have continuity to the normally open terminals with voltage applied, you have a bad relay.
Before you do any of this, try turning the ignition switch to the "on" position and listen for your pump. If you hear it then its not your relay.
If this don't work I would try to bypass the Fuel pump ecu temporarily by jumping 2 terminals in the engine bay diagnostic plug . Forgot which 2 though

All the electricals work.. It cranks and everything.. Just doesnt start up. A mechanic told me to spray starter fluid in the intake and it should start up. and if it does he said it might be the fuel pump or something like that. Is it common for the fuel pump to go bad?.. Car has only 118,000k miles.

Blown Fuse: A possiblilty ...
I put 40K of 130K original miles on my 96 SC400 and it died suddenly during a heavy rain storm (we get them often in FL and no problems before ). Turned out to be a blown fuse per Toyo dealer. No charge. I still question it and my dentist didn't believe it until I showed him the invoice. Today I have 8K more miles with no problems.
