Default my pilot bearing wont come out, help!!!

im trying to replace my pilot bearing but i cant get the old one out. i've soaked it in liquid wrench penetrating oil and it still wont come out with my pilot bearing puller. i've considered leaving the old one in there but im afraid it might be damaged after all the yanking i've done to it. i attached a pic of the type of puller im using. is there a better type of puller? any other ideas on how to get it out??? thanks in advance.

iirc the pilot bearing is pressed in the flywheel right? or is it on the end of the crankshaft? if so maybe its time for a lightweight flywheel and a new bearing

Another method to get it out is to find a shaft or bolt that fits tightly in the bearing. Then you pack behind the bearing with grease, keep packing it in there and then use your bolt and tap in in, the pressure of the grease will push the bearing out. kinda makes a mess but it works.

grease works but too messy. try using wonder bread. yes wonder bread. take the slice and pack it in real tight into the hole. then get a rod or bolt that is close to the ID of the pilot bearing and hammer it out. the compressed wonder bread will push the bearing out.

this works like a charm on a few 240's that i tried it on.

good luck

got it! i filled it with grease and used one of the bolts from the bellhousing. on the first try the grease squeezed out between the bold and bearing. i wrapped some duct tape around the bolt to get a really tight fit and it came right out. thanks a lot guys.
