White smoke?
Well my car has been giving me some issues this summer. I took it to a mechanic he said my valve seals were bad and I payed 1,600 for him to rebuild my head, change seals gaskets etc. I get the car back and same problem white smoke and at startup idles jittery and later goes to normal ( sometimes turns off at idle). I took the car back and he charged me another 300 because the ''head was cracked''. I get the car back same thing. He told me my fuel pump was bad so bought a walbro and installed it myself. Same problem white smoke that smells like gas. I took the car to have some wheel studs installed and alignment the mechanic there check out the car for free and told me it was my MAF senor it was reading 0. So will replacing the MAF fix all my problems? I've spent my summer without a car and it SUCKS ill soon need my car to go to school as well.

Something you may want to look at if you have not already. I think SC3's like the SC4's might have a hose that attaches the power steering pump to the intake and it is known to leak by. It normally blows out a good amount of smoke when starting when it goes bad. This happened to mine, so I capped the intake lines and put a oil pan plug (only bolt I could find to plug it around here) in where that valve was. Not a problem since.
Here is a thread with another SC300 that had these lines reversed, there are other threads talking about when it leaks...

Good Luck,

Well the car isn't running out of PS or anything. The white smoke that comes out of the exhaust smells like pure gas. Ill take a look under the hood about the power steering lines tomorrow thought thanks for the tip.

Well my issue was that the ECU burned out and took the injector pulse with it. Meaning the injectors would stay open ALL the time, the white smoke was atomized gas coming out the exhaust.

sounds like you spend a lot of money on nothing and could have found this problem yourself if you had a multimeter, FSM, and some time. it would have take you 2 days tops to go through every electrical component at your own pace and test it all...even if you have not done it before.
you could have found that injector issue easily but its good thats its fixed. btw dont use that mechanic any more.
