Spark Plug Gap Question
I just installed new spark plugs & wire set. The ones I got I ordered from Autozone (In stock) were for my car. Now they say gapped at 0.44, but my manual says 0.43. Will that .01 make much of a difference & cause any problems?

most plugs need to be gapped by the installer. As they might fit another motor that uses a differant gap spec.
Irridium, platinum etc plugs are pre gapped and not supposed to be changed.
.01 gap diff will not change a thing. Don't worry about it.

Thanks for the reply, these are the ones I got & seem to be pre-gapped to specification.

If they are Iridium plugs and you try to regap them you will most likely damage them the electode is very small. I picked up a set of NGK Laser Iridiums from Advanced to try them and they were correctly gapped straight out of the box. I've installed at least a 150 sets in different cars and never had to regap them out of the box. NGK and Denso plugs have very good quality control from my experience. Now Bosch and Autocrap plugs, those are a different story.

I changed my plugs yesterday. With the diy floating around here somewhere, it only took me 2 hours from disassembly to start up. I used bosch platinum+4's and the car does run slightly better from the ngk r's that were in there.
