Default possible swap?

i have a 97 sc300, i have been thinking lately about swapping in a drivetrain from the 99 SC400 which came with the 4.0L 1UZ-FE VVTi motor. i wanted to know if anyone has ever done such a transformation before. i know i will need a motor, trans, harness, ecu, driveshaft,P.S line, maybe A/C line not sure. would anyone have any more info on this matter? i am tired of seeing all the 1JZ and 2JZ swaps, J/K lol buti want to do something different. hopefully this is something feasable since it was offrered in the SC400' 98,99,00 years.

Its possible .But why not get a 3uzfe .With 300 horses and 325 torque i bet that engine will perform wonderful in a sc.

i thought about that but i think it would be a pain converting a GS430 or LS430 wiring harness to fit the SC and since the 1UZFE VVTi was offered in the SC it would be simple. plus i can always upgrade from there. and that motor is 290HP and 300 Ft lbs of TQ. so that should be nicer then the stock I6

If the motor is from a gs 430 i guess it would be similar to a aristo swap in a sc when it comes to the wiring. Since your car is obd2 most likely the 2000 sc motor will drop right in and wires should plug up.You will need a ecu to control the hydraulic fan since your car dont have it and you will have to get the power steering lines ,ac lines, radiator with hydro fan

You might have to replace the gas tank since the 98+ sc dont have a fuel return line. You best bet will be to get a front cut from a junkyard since you will need alot of parts from the sc400 engine bay to complete it .Its easier going 1j or na-t.

The harness shouldn't be that hard to work with the body. There are many people locally that can do it. The motor is cheap as they're dome a dozen but the question is why? When my car was at 400 hp it still felt slow. At 800 hp feels much nicer. So V8 at 300 hp would be just normal in my opinion. If you're planning on doing turbos on the V8 that would be nice but who would do it?

The SC400 engine will drop right in and bolt up just fine, the only issue i see is wiring with the stock dash. I have heard (i may be wrong here) that the SC400 and SC300 dashes do not match up properly. Other than that, there should be no other issues.

Definitely sounds cool, good luck with it!
