The engine that is in the SC300 and the one found it the MKIV NA Supra are identical. Nothing different between the 2 that I know of.
Engine Code: 2JZ-GE (naturally aspirated) DOHC
Displacment: 3.0 liters (2997cc)
Cylinder Bore: 86mm (3.39in)
Cylinder Stroke: 86mm (3.39in)
Uses Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection
Aluminum head and 4 valves per cylinder
Cast Iron Block
Static compression ratio of 10.0:1
JZ = JZ series engine, 6 cyl gasoline, family of straight-6 engines. Were replacement for M-series motors.
Heres something you didn't know:
After the dash in the engine code GE/GTE have a meaning behind them.
G-Twin Cam (sports/powerful) with multiple sidedraft carbs (unless EFI). Wide Angle, 45 degrees or more between the intake and exhaust valves.
E-Electronic Fuel Injection
T-Turbocharged
The 1 and the 2 and just engine generations. I'm getting off topic. I'm done.
Matter of fact here you go. http://www.mkiv.com/specifications/ncf/ncf93/

Oil pans are the SAME between all motors; the GEs just don't have the oil return hole drilled (nor the bolt holes on either side of it). Supra and SC300 have the same oil pan. They have an identical chassis forward of the driver including placement of the crossmember.

I believe the biggest difference is, the turbo 1,2 jz-gte have lower compression pistons too add more boost= more power.
where as the na jz as higher compression pisions too make up for the power.

SC300 oil cap question
I have a 1992 SC300, the oil cap that I have is unreadable. Apparently there are two different caps 1 is 5w30 and the other is 10w30. Can the SC300 drivers kindly let me know witch one you have so I can go ahead and order the correct one.
thanks in advance!
