Default Turbo Rebuilt By Turbonetics

Due to the leak from the turbo, I took it down to www.turbonetics.com for a rebuild. I paid $300 and they replaced the whole internals to specs. I put it on and ran the car today. I felt a huge difference in the response time. The second that I floored the car, the boost kicks in full at 6 psi immediately. It's so much more quiet than before.

Turbonetics warehouse has thousands of turbos and parts. They also have some huge turbos like a coffee table. I'm not sure how long my turbo will last but I think it'll last a long time due to their good reputation. They can also upgrade the turbos, too. I'm showing my turbo after the rebuild. It looks and functions like new. I don't think anyone can beat that price.

$300? Precision's rebuilds start at $185 if you don't need any new parts besides bearings/seals.

Either way that's still cheaper than some places quote out.

I hang out with some local So Cal SC owners here. Several of us are on this forum as well. I'll let you know when we'll meet up next time soon.

The reason I went to Turbonetics was because they're somewhat local (1 hour drive...LOL) so I could wait while they rebuild it. It took them 1.5 hours to finish it. Starting at $185 sounds like a good deal, but they might charge more due to the complete rebuild and shipping cost.

Understandable, I'd pay more for that too. Shipping wasn't all that expensive ($15 each way I think) but I ended up waiting weeks to get it back.
