Has anyone passed smog in CA with XERD headers and an Axle-back exhaust ??

Has anyone passed smog in CA with XERD headers and an Axle-back exhaust ??

Just curious if I should do the headers or also or just the exhaust...

i had headers and exhaust on my 240sx... it didnt pass

im not from cali but all i read says that it might pass smog but wont pass visual inspection...thus meaning you fail ...sorry

move to IL. we dont have any emission laws for OBD1 cars at all

here in texas you can go to a half-arsed place and they will just drive your car in the parking lot and thats it their done. crazy isnt

yea if you can get them to not LOOK at your car, your ok, but if they look at it, you wont pass...

make friends with someone that does smog
or ask ur friends that has a friend that does smog
or put back the stock headers for smog

ya it might be funnnn. does ur car accelerate better with the headers?? bcs i was thinking of getting a mid-pipe to delete the cat on my stock headers.

I have not installed them yet, but I will let you know when I do.

Right now, I am just looking for the optimum setup for me to pass smog and also noise wise since I live in an area that is strict on that.

swaping these things back is not too bad actually... my friend has to swap his turbo kit and stuff back everytime he goes to smog... good thing he decided to go na-t and he uses emanage for tuning, all he has to do is load the stock map and its all good, but it takes a lot of time and a lot of money... My friend looks at it as it is time to change the seals and gaskets

pass with axle back exhaust. factory exhaust manifold though.

Should pass with exhaust if you keep your cats on. No point in getting headers IMO. Visual half the time they dont look or cars. they only really check when you go to the smog ref
