Default Given the Option, What would you do???

Gang:

I want to start a new thread here that gets the opinions and thoughts of each of you on this subject:

Would you cross the firewall, and install fuel lines inside the cabin of your car?

I ran into an interesting situation...When I stripped my project car recently to sell all the tan interior parts and to prepare for the black interior swap, I found this, much to my horror:

This was not installed by me, and who did it is not important. So do not ask. But, I was flabbergasted to see that this was the way this company decided to install this fuel line...Instead of going to the rear corner of the fuel tank and connecting up from there. Personally, I think this is extremely dangerous, and I was quite disappointed that it was donethis way. What do you think? Am I over reacting? I don't think fuel lines should ever be run inside the cabin...How about you?

its not the end of the world.... not something i'd do though. you could very easily just remake that line and run it how you like. its not hard to do.

if you redo it use stainless braided hose with AN fittings.

Gang, I appreciate your comments. I know how to repair it. I will remove it, and seal off the firewall. The lines will be run outside of the cabin. I am not comfortable with fuel lines in the cabin, even with SS braided lines and AN fittings. That is actually what I had instructed the company to use, but I never knew, nor authorized them to do this, especially within the cabin... Let us just say that they will never get near my car again.

I would never run fuel into the cabin. Looking past the fact that fuel is ran in the cabin, Look at the install, it shows a real lack of give a $h!t on the installers part. Crude cut holes with no insulation between the sharp edges and wires/lines.

I'd be pretty pissed. It's dangerous and simply just a hack job. Those holes looks like he cut them with the claw end of a hammer.

On top of that, there's live wires right next to it. Even worse, they are up against sharp steel with no grommet. Just ASKING for a fire.

That's one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen and the scariest part is what he's hacked that you HAVEN'T found yet.

I'd look over the whole thing for a safety check.

That's exactly what I have been doing...Reviewing everything. I do not trust any of the work that was done. Especially the wiring...

It will all be right when I am done.
