R154 prices???
what sounds like a decent price on an R154 tranny? i called up a company that had one from a chaser and they quoted me $1400 + shipping for just the tranny....does that sound reasonable? i know R154 from supras tend to be cheaper the R154 from soarer's and chaser's.
oh and with the motor it would only be $1950 + shipping. go figure.

From what I have seen, a soarer/chaser R154 goes for ~$1200 on this forum's and supraforum's classifieds when they come available.
$1400 sounds about right considering it is coming from a company with overhead.
If $1950 is their price with the motor, I would buy the set and sell the motor. A GS3 guys would love that the Chaser 1JZ is front sump already. An SC guy would love any 1JZ: period. You can easily clear $550 for a 1JZ motor in good shape with all the wiring attached.
ps. I got my Supra R154 in great shape with no grinds and all the gears for $100 picked up. But, I am having to spend a good $500 in parts (bellhousing and JZZ30 shifter assembly) to make it work.

i may just end up buying a supra R154 and doing the extension on the tailshaft to make it work. it would end up being a ton cheaper. or i could just learn how to save my money.....

I've called up a few places these past 2 weeks, and the prices are ranging about $2k for the Soarer R154 to $2,500 (known to be in good shape)
(also you need to have someone on the phone that knows exactley what your asking for and NOT the mkiii R154)
what are you guys seeing?
I think the demand is greater for them now then before, especially with so many NA-t cars now
Also I found out the 240sx guys are buying them up for the 1jz/2jz swap intot he nissan
The dismantler's know they can charge more now, since everyone is asking...

They are in high demand these days. Definitely a cheaper alternative to a 6 speed swap. I somehow managed to get 2 of em for a pretty fair price...guess i got lucky
1400 is a fair price for these trans.
Oh, and don't bother PMing me about it its already sold.

I paid $700 shipped, for a Mk3 R154, that has been gonre through (has new bushings and seals)
Spent another $500 on a new 1jz bellhousing and flywheel, from Toyota.
Another $700 for a HPF Bronze clutch kit.
So, thats about $1900,...... and I still have to modify the shift linkage.

payed 854 shipped for the tranny, 2 shifters, clutch, flywheel, pedals, etc. etc. (everything needed for an auto - 5spd. MK3 supra conversion). Guess I overpayed since I bought all the other crap with it, but it was the only one one on ebay for a week when I bought it
