2jzGE head on a GTE block?
Maybe some other jdm engines, but I thought the reputation of the JDM 2j's is that they are quite reliable. Many (most?) came from the somewhat sedate Aristro 4 door automatic sedan.
Those are upscale cars and probably had a cushy life until we got ahold of them ...

I just got a response from titan motorsports..this is what they said,"how are you doing, yes you will be able to use the GTE shortblock on the NA head with out issue. if you have the fund to do that it will be better down the road, so you can run alot of boost without issue. it will be cheaper to just buy a gte block and put that in. if you do a 1jz swap then you will have to buy a clutch, flywheel, harness, ecu, etc...
its all going to depend on your budget, but if you do but just the gte block, all you would need is new gaskets, and the car should have no issues and you will be able to make 600hp reliable.
let me know if you have any other questions."
This seems as though going this route will actually be a much better route than the 1jz, especially since it costs around the same....
I have decided to do this project and I will keep you guys posted.
thanks!
