I had a talk with Bit on here about this exact same thing. I wanted to buy one to tune my car to run leaner and get better gas mileage. However we talked about the amount of time it would take for the unit to pay itself off and only to get about 1-3mpg better.
Long story short, I didn't buy one.

You may see a bigger kick by adding a V8 MAF and 440cc injectors? But again, thats quite a bit of work and $ for the return.....
I think you would see a more noticeable increase in performance (Not necessarily in HP gain) with a restalled torque converter. Or possibly Xerd headers...

To be honest, If your looking for a big power increase, you may be dissappointed........ How much of an increase in HP did you have in mind?

I know this doesnt answer your ? . But I would get a restalled torque converter from Lextreme. That was the single biggest NA performance upgrade that i made prior to Na-t.
Anyhow to answer your ?: 20 HP seems like a reasonable expectation to me....However I dont have any first hand knowledge of anyone who has done that on an SC300. And I dont want to give you any misinformation.
This may or may not be relavant. But there are some who have doneso to an SC4, with positive results....VeryLost had a (dyno proven) net gain of 20HP from the tuned SAFC on his SC4 . https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ght=safc+sc400
