R154 Transmission question
#17
the r154 is over rated... you will probably have to rebuild a used trans. by doing so you will have the opportunity to upgrade transmission internals so why not try finding the cheapest compatible transmission. and this is the cheap way to get an r154 to fit in.

with that shifter of course. r154 comes with i think 3 different shifter retainers/tail housing i could be wrong tho. this is what i had to do to get it to work with my auto ECU.http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...Picture317.jpg

Are there any out of the box shifter kits for the SC300 to use the R154 from the mKIII Supra? I found bellhousing, I just need that and a driveshaft. Where are these complete kits?

I've seen the R154 tranny mounted to the 2jz swap in a nissan 240sx. I'm looking for a r154 swap in my gs300. Will in fit to the N/A 2jz? The getrag tranny is way to pricey and the W58 I here is way too difficult to work with.

I got this one coach! any tranny that came on a jz engine ie 1jz,2jz yes any even the non-turbo will fit either or engine.. if you use a r154 from a 7m engine the bellhousing is different and will require a 1jz bell housing, and a shifter extension for an sc,gs,supra, and 240sx.
