Guys-

I will have had my SC400 for a year in October. I have taken the time to make a few minor modifications. Other than a BFI, the 67k mile V8 under my hood is unaltered, having been babied by the previous owner. It is now time to turn up the heat.

Today, I received the first piece of the puzzle: a brand new Auto TT Torsen LSD for a Supra. I will be transplanting it into an SC300 auto differential for the 4.27 gears to get neck-snapping starts. Once I source an SC300 diff, I will begin the surgery.

Expected in the mail early next week is a centrifugal supercharger mounting bracket for a fully belt-driven Powerdyne supercharger. I have not sourced one of their blowers yet, but my eyes are peeled for a good deal. I will initially run a 6psi pulley and work to 10-12psi. All the goodies (bypass valve, FMIC, etc.) will be included.

Also, I have talked with Neil Griffiths about acquiring his R154 swap kit. This will require that I source an ultra-rare Soarer/Chaser R154, but -again- my eyes are peeled. This modification will progress naturally after I am blowing 6psi and I have completed a full exhaust swap from S&S Headers back.

In summary, the mod list is going to look something like this:
- Torsen LSD with 4.27 gears
- Powerdyne centrifugal supercharger
- R154 transmission swap

Getting through this mod list via a totally custom set up will probably take a number of months, but I am more than up to the challenge. Ultimately, I am looking to create a five speed supercharged V8 Lexus that can run muscle to muscle with the American V8's that are littering the Indiana roadways.

Here goes nothing-
Mark

Eric, I would be working with a JZ engine if it wasn't for you sticking with me and my V8 through dozens of PM's. The knowledge and perspective you willingly offered was instumental. I am glad to have settled on the right path for me to take.

This is the sole reason I started the thread: accountability. Now that everyone knows my goals, I have to stay on task to complete them.

Thanks man. I am going to do my best to post pictures each step of the way to keep everyone who wants to monitor the build involved. This should be a pretty fun project.

I should have a pretty bad *** ride once it is completed, but I can only take things one step at a time. There are a lot of small jobs to support these major modifications (eg. rerouting the battery to the trunk to make room for the giant blower), so this will be a project that will take months and not days.

This thread will be my go-to thread for all of the updates on my upgrades. I will do what I can to stay as up to date as possible.

I wasn't expecting a 2-3 week build, that would be outrageous, or someone w/ too much money and a shop doing it for them. But as you progress I will be watching for updates. Have fun w/ the build

Good luck ! But..... what are you going to do about traction from the start ? With that gear ratio and Boost its going to tire spin like crazy.

Boost should be entering the system ~2500 rpm. With the LSD and 275mm of rubber in the rear, I am hoping to be hooked up by the time I am boosting.
