i agree with scott..i have beaten car with more hp than me from a roll.....due to an efficent intercooler..and alot of air across it.....and with stock compression and 15psi<which is very high> 461 is possible.......the toyomoto kit is an awsome kit and could definitly do it....just be careful with the fuel your running and the boost on stock compression.....i dont know how good the G-tech is...but it is possible.....
SR- with turbo cars you usally have a peek hp when the turbo gets to full boost and then it will hold across the rpms....others might make more hp as the RPM increaseand peak out at highest rpm.....the turbos <when fueled correctly > will not drop off hp..they will keep making power......email me and ill send you a copy of my latest dyno chart....Jeff

Don't forget Toyomoto's manifold has a lot to do with the way the dyno sheet looks. The design of the manifold gives a very even output of torque across the RPM band instead of going for narrow top end power... That is why it works so well with mid sized turbos that spool by 3000rpm. A Toyomoto dyno sheet will look more like a plateau than a peak.

If you were to put a normally aspirated 400rwhp V-8 engine in the SC and compare that to an SC300 with 400rwhp on a Toyomoto turbo setup, you'll find that the Toyomoto car would blow the doors off the V-8 with the same measured peak power.

Oh ya....speaking of the dyno's...

Here is Jeff's (SC300TURBO) dyno:

All I can say about it is "WOW".

is that 461 rwhp? will stock compression make that kind of difference on a T04E turbo? I'd expect that on Scott's car since he has a bigger turbo...

anyway... there's lots to look forward to

Ya, RWHP is what the gtech gives you.

Well no matter what size turbo I'm running....if we're both at 15psi, shouldn't the power be the same? (well as long as I haven't surpassed what my turbo CAN do efficiently)

Lots to look forward too... I know...I can't wait tho...lol I found a Lex/Toyota specialist that'll put my clutch in for $200, plus $30 to resurface the flywheel. Kickass price...considering the Lex place wanted over $500. I was gonna do it myself, but for that price...I'll hafta let them do it!

Of course...I gotta call AAA to come move my car...it got stuck at the dragstrip yesterday... *tried* to make a couple runs, and on #3 the clutch wore itself out. I can get to about 5 or 6mph in first gear before it starts to slip. DOH!

Wiz,
They'd be close but not exactly... 18psi is just the pressure. Overall HP is a combination of flow AND pressure. A larger turbo at the same PSI can flow more, create less heat, and make more HP.

The T04E is a just a little smaller, but at low boost, it may be more efficient than the 60-1, hence the good numbers. I'd have to look at the compressor maps... When the boost is cranked up, the size difference and efficiency range becomes more pronounced. The power difference would be noticeable at 20psi and race gas, where the overall CFM of the larger turbo allows more power.

On the clutch thing... I'd suggest a new flywheel. Resurfacing a slightly warped flywheel could induce imbalance and chatter. You're basically taking out metal unevenly and could end up making the flywheel out of balance even though you'd have that one surface smooth. Its basically the same as resurfacing brake rotors, if you've done them before, you know the resurfacing process takes the warp out temporarily, but you never get all the vibration out of them. I always just pitch rotors if they warp and get new ones.

I underdstand about the flywheel....but I've got like -$600 that I can spend on my car! (well I had no more $$ for it, and had to buy a $600 clutch)

I would like to get a new flywheel...but there's no way I can right now. I think I'll likely deal with the current flywheel, and probably in January upgrade to a 6-speed therefore new clutch and flywheel and everything. Maybe I won't even resurface the flywheel for now, to keep it balanced. As long as the new clutch/old flywheel will last around 20k miles, I'm fine with it.

Within the next 3 months I've got major internal work to be done on the car, so I'll just replace most everything then.
