Default Check Oil Light

Ever since I got back from my two-week vacation, the oil light comes on and off while I'm driving (although I haven't noticed anything wierd about the way it drives). I have checked the oil in the mornings and the reads at the "F" line, so I'm not sure what's causing this. Maybe an oil change that's coming up will resolve this?

I would definitely suggest checking the oil level sending unit, which I believe is on the side of the engine block on the driver's side. First, make sure that there is not an intermittent wiring problem to your panel (sounds unlikely in this case) by just grounding the connector at the sending unit, and looking for the light on the panel.

Sometimes it is just a loose connection, but if that doesn't solve the problem, then almost certainly you just need a new sender unit... easy (but messy) to replace.

Yeah i got a 92' SC300 and i recently started seeing that same "check engine oil light" but i check the levels and they're fine...my mechanic says that the oil pressure sensor needs to be cleaned...or replaced...its pretty cheap...its about $16 - $18...check it out on this site...hope this helps...peace!
