Default What is your Idle rpm at?

i just notice that my rpm is really high lately its at 1000rpm is this normal or what? my radio has been dieing, like it doesnt have any power to it....is my alternator going out? and sometime my rpm would be at like 200 or 300 rpm which one is normal? 300rpm or in the 1000rpm?

sound like it is going out, did your battery light came on??

Your car actually stayed on at 200-300 RPM? damn, that ones a diehard. Neither 200 nor 1000 are normal, i get around 550-600 which is around average.

I'm idling around 650 ~ 700 on my 300

no my battery light isnt on, but my engine check light came one once, and everytime i remember my engine check light would turn on is when my alternator is going out

well if your A/C is running your idle should obvioulsy be up higher, but mine usually is around about 500 or so, but I recently had somewhat of the same problem and it turned out to be my crank pulley wasn't sliding freely so it was making the engine run kind of funky and my electrical stuff was dying as well, but I had thought it was my alternator as well but who knows, hopefully your situation isnt as bad as mine was

My 95sc400 fast idles or with the a-c on around 1100 rpm, once warm and no a-c I guess around 750
