Default sc400 headers found new ones

well i was trying to get ahold of a set of tex headers when i cam across this company

http://www.ektuning.com/cgi-bin/cp-a...header&catstr=

i havent seen it mentioned on here before so i thought id post up the price is slightly rediculous but im sure they would be much better than the S&S headers as far as fitment and quality

but does anyone know where i can go to get a set of tex headers from australia im ready to buy a set now and the money is burning a hole in my pocket

If those headers are true bolt on and go then they rock.....even for that price.....I wonder it they bolt up to the stock down pipes unlike the S&S headers? These new headers look longer then the S&S Headers so I would be almost certain custom down pipes and cats will need to be reworked with these headers too......

These are the S@S Headers....

If the pic is accurrate on their webpage, then they are definitely different than the S&S headers...They do look different. They are a 4 into 1 design, into a merge collector. Look pretty well made, I also noticed the bung welded in place for I assume, the EGR connection. They did not state what materials they were made of...But, $900 is not a bad price for a set of headers...A custom set will get ya for $2 to $3k for the set...Longer headers tend to provide more gains in the mid to upper range on NA cars, while shorties tend to help out more in the low end.

Like these Tex headers Ryan? Also with my S&S Headers intalled I did not gain or lose lowend power but was most impressed with the topend gains, very impressed with the results in combination with the two smaller downpipe cat deletions......

S&S headers are the shorty headers.........

These new headers seem to be mid length in size compared to the other two sets...

Yeah, those are really long...they go beyond the stock cat position behind the engine. Yep, the S&S are the shorties....

Still surprised you did not gain any low end...

Being that I am a little picture happy right now....I guess I should post pictures of the pathetic stock restrictive headers that were on my 1992 SC400.....

The thing about headers that I noticed is the outside temperature of car radiates way more heat...The car runs cool but you step out of the car and you can feel the heat coming from the headers.....No biggie but there is a difference.

You know Ryan, maybe I would have gained some lowend if I did not delete the cats....Who knows? No noticeable lowend gains were made with my S&S header install.....All mid to highend gains which is fine with my setup....My topend suffered before this mod with the torque converter (DTC).........

Just received an email from them.

"The headers for the SC400 fits all, from 92 up to 00. While the exhaust is a little different it still have the same connecting points. The headers will be 100% bolt on to your 98 SC400. The headers remove the pre-cats however the main cat remains which will still allow you to pass emissions and stay emissions legal.

We also offer a Y-pipe which removes the main cat and our own exhaust system. As an option we offer a high flow cat that is 100% bolt on to our Y-pipe and will allow you to pass emissions."
