Hey guys, im gonna delete my resonators on my 98 sc400. I told them to make it so that i can take off my old resonators and attach/detach them whenever i want. So im gonna have 3 flanges and the 2 bent pipes that starts out as a Y from the 3rd cat.. He quoted me 190+tax. Im just wondering if that is a good deal.

 

OK - now are you getting the exhaust piping done as well as getting the resonators pulled. Or is that basically pulling the resonators. If so, then that is a bad deal.

I took out both resonators and the extra catalytic converter and had new tips welded on for $150 and that included the price of the tips. I have a 92 sc400.

 

I just pulled out the Center Cat, its a 92 SC400. Heres what it sounds like now, minus the rattle.

basically, it's new pipes that is just bolted on, and whenever iw ant, i can bolt the resonators back on. There are 2 flanges in the back that go to each muffler, and 1 flange in the front that comes from the 3rd cat. and the pipes in between he's gonna bend. basically just bolt on pipes that takes the place of the resonators.

 

$150 sounds like the right price, even though I would have only paid $50 to delete resonators...Keep in mind your exhaust will become noiser without those stock resonators...They sell stainless steel high flowing resonators on Ebay for cheap if it gets to noisy.. I am adding two more and now will have 4 high flowing resonators on my exhaust system to keep down the S&S Header, and Megan N1 Straight thru mufflers that roar...Each set of resonators reduce the exhaust noise by almost 50% I would say....Something to consider with extreme performance exhaust on a Luxury Lexus vehicle.........

Those shinny things showing in my rear exhaust section are the resonators....they don't effect performance from what I can tell...
