EGR temp. sensor; check engine
My check engine light came on and my local mechanic said the code was for a
EGR temp sensor or something more serious but he didn't have Lexus diagnostics.
Is there any way to bypass this warning? The engine is running great! I Just have this blasted
"check engine light" on. I read on the forum that many are just by-passing the EGR altogether.
Would this help me?
Maybe if I clean all the contacts. Is the EGR sensor easy to change and inexpensive?
Where is it exactly relative to lets say the MAF sensor?
I have a '92 SC-300
Thanks, Don

try unpluging the negative battery cable for about 5 to 10 minutes. then put it back on. the check engine light should go off. if it comes back on, u should check up on it.
and if u wanted to change the sensor, its gonna be expensive because its a lexus. i bought 02 sensors for my 92 at napa, and the thing cost 150 a piece!!!
good luck.

I've tried the battery unplug trick already.
After about 10 min down the road the
Check Engine Light comes back on.
Thanks,
Don
Can anyone tell me where the EGR sensor is?
Maybe I can clean the contacts.
